Crisis Intervention
Family Service of Glencoe partners with Glencoe Public Safety to provide psychological support to families in crisis around the clock. If you are in crisis and need immediate help, please call 911.
Crisis Team
Our crisis team is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. We are available to care for residents responding to:
- A home fire
- An incident of domestic or family violence
- A child or adolescent emotional crisis
- An elderly resident in need of assistance
- A sudden death of a family member
We also have close ties to other supporting emergency organizations who can also help in times of crisis, such as the North Shore Senior Center, Haven Youth and Family Services, and Highland Park Hospital.
Emergency Response
Family Service of Glencoe is also an emergency-crisis responder in the event of a tragedy in our schools, businesses or homes. FSG has systems in place to efficiently mobilize the entire staff if unforeseen trauma comes to our village. Through our emergency response planning, we are proactively prepared to care for the Village of Glencoe during any of the challenges life can bring.
FSG takes a leadership role in a township-wide emergency response program that coordinates services, provides education to professional volunteers, and offers community response when there is a crisis. Our staff cooperates with police, township government, clergy, mental health providers, family services and hospital emergency room personnel.
Planning for large-scale events such as natural disasters, terrorist events or major accidents is at the core of our emergency response planning. However, unexpected and tragic events can happen on a smaller scale. No matter the size of the issue, FSG is ready to respond to the needs of our community.
